I do not know exactly what I want to do
I visited to this restaurant on a trip to Nagoya. There was a huge queue at lunch time but normally people dont stay much longer so it takes about 10 to 15mins. I got pork miso steak which they put miso souce on the tonkatsu. It’s actually a light marinade, and gives a delicious extra taste. If you are visiting Nagoya, this is something you must try!

Delicious tonkatsu don
Too busy store because it is right next to Nagoya station and therefore expect to rush to order and finish the food quickly!!Besides, some premium menu items are not available at that location for the same reason. If i knew it ahead of time, i would have gone to other location. At the end of the day, this restaurant is a BIG local chain in Nagoya just like Starbucks in Seattle!

An absolute classic veteran serving local misokatsu (Kyushu pork!) since 1947. A TIP: the eatery is located at the underground level of the shopping mall, so take the stairs. Google map will keep pointing to the street level building, obviously.
Speaking of Nagoya, Nagoya rice is especially famous for miso. Among them, this time is Yabaton, a store that represents Nagoya. The staff seems busy too.The famous menu is the big roast pork cutlet.It's quite high volume and high calorie to eat alone, so please challenge it 😊For the taste, the loin of pork has a lot of oil, so it's a good thing, but the sauce of miso taste will not bother you and it will also play a role in further promoting the rice. There were queue but it went on fast
The meat is thick though it is a straw cutlet. Thanks to the sweet miso sauce, the rice goes well. The rice is free of charge. You can eat a lot again if you sprinkle boiled rice on rice.

While it's quite popular, I didn't find the quality to be that high compared to some other tonkatsu places. If you're in Nagoya though might be worth checking out, as they use a special miso based sauce in that region.
Not good as expected, but still can try
Very short queue but it doesn’t have Kurobuta (black pig). If you dont want to eat Kurobuta, I recommend this branch. It’s very short queue.
It was a very nice place to go for dinner. Everything was neat and orderly. The staff were nice and quick. The food was super good. I liked that the rice was all I could have with my meal. The rice was yummy. It was a good time.
Amazing Miso Katsu restaurant!!! It’s a local specialty from Nagoya. They make pork cutlets and put them on some cabbage sliced and then put a hot sweet and salty miso sauce on top. And you can get this in a set of course, with rice and miso soup. They also had free green tea instead of mugi tea which is cool and less common. A must visit in Nagoya.
We take the Shinkansen, dash into the underground shopping area and arrive before opening.But there was a queue.Although the queue is long, the turn was surprisingly good and I waited for about 20 minutes and the turn came.The secret is that you finish the order while you are in line.When I ordered draft beer, it came with a sample of miso.Loin tonkatsu arrived soon.At the table, they serve the specialty miso.When the sauce is applied, it smells good with the steam.It's surprisingly lighter than I imagined, even though it's plenty of miso.I enjoyed the first Yaba ton in my life.

I go here EVERY time I stop in Nagoya- super yummy, and easy to get takeaway then a short walk to the shinkansen. Seems to have become more popular/ busier recently, expect 10-20mins wait.

I had lunch at Toba Yaba. I couldn't really try the two pork cutlets, so I had a roast cutlet set meal. The miso sauce was light and delicious.
Favorite katsudon on the trip
This is a good place to try one of Nagoya's specialty dishes, the misokatsu. Bit pricey but the portion is large. Personally I prefer regular tonkatsu over misokatsu, because the miso sauce tastes more like soy sauce than miso and the taste is very strong. You can try it once while you're in Nagoya but even if you skipped it you won't miss out much. Not something I'd come back again for.
Super delicious. Katsu was perfectly cooked, very fatty and juicy. Topped with the miso sauce, I can see why the line was out the door for this place. Must try if you like katsu.
It's good place to dining alone. But seats are narrow and uncomfortable.

One of the most well-known Nagoya misokatsu spots. The katsu itself is nice and tender, and instead of the usual sauce, the "aka-miso" (red miso famous in Nagoya) is somewhat sweet. Definitely worth a try if you're in town.
Yabaton is located in Esca, an underground shopping area directly connected to Nagoya Station. Because it is easier to access than the main store in Yabacho, it is a convenient store for business travelers to Nagoya.Depending on the time of day, there are queues for entering the store, but since it rotates quickly, it does not bother me much.Warajiji and Teppan Tonkatsu are the classic and teppanyaki flavors.The side menu has increased, but the taste may be missed. Well, it may be a matter of taste.I don't know if the motsu skewer (red miso taste) wasn't warm, either because it was a failure or because it was a specification, but I think the warmer one is better.Miso radish is delicious because it is well-stained with red miso.
Old place but busy even at 3PM while the similar restaurants beside are empty. English menu available, staff cannot speak English but they go all the way to accommodate foreigners. Pork is excellent.

Worth trying nagoya spaghetti, thought the service here and the food was good (pictured is the medium Milanese or whatever the best seller is)

Pomade? perfume? deodorant? It's a habit of a clerk's older brother who wears a sickness! I was looking forward to spending a fair amount of money, but the fun time was over because of the smell of my brother rather than the fragrance of Tonkatsu. I wanted the manager to notice the smell of his brother in the hall.

It's in the basement of the station, so it's easy to access, so I visited the store several times. The staff are happy to serve me, so it's a good impression. When I'm calm, I want to go again.
We had the finest rib tonkatsu.It was soft and delicious with its volume.It was around 19:30 at night, so the restaurant was closed and I could relax.
First miso cutlet. It is located in the underground shopping area where restaurants are lined up. It was quite lined up during the day. I think that the rotation is fast even if they are lined up. There were 600 yen for souvenirs and 900 yen for fillet cut sandwich. If you want a set meal, you can have a large serving or substitute. There are a lot of things to look at, but is the menu with miso cutlet and sauce cutlet together a standard? I don't remember much of the other menus, but when the clerk told the kitchen about the order, there were many people saying “waraji” or “waraji”.

We used o'clock Sunday of 15.We put without the Dari lined up especially since the time it was half-hearted. But the store was crowded with the split.I ordered the miso katsu bowl.Miso cutlet is very delicious rich taste!Cabbage ate over a special dressing.Even cabbage I thought delicious than al me over the miso.Miso soup is normal.Because it seems there is also in Tokyo I want to go in Tokyo.And Ginza I checked, there was in Tokyo Station.
Good filling ton katsu. The sauce is very well done but one of the pieces was a bit dry. Being one of nagoya's famous food spots, you can't miss it
